Welcome

Shaldon Festival 2024

Sunday 16 June – Saturday 22 June

Our thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of this year’s Festival – to our Friends and sponsors for their generosity, and to our wonderfully appreciative and enthusiastic audiences.

Highlights included the charismatic, Royal harpist Alis Huws and flautist Carys Gittins, Trio Sora’s stunning performance of Brahms and Haydn piano trios, the amazing virtuosity of the exciting multi-instrumentalist world-folk fusion band Kabantu, and the grand finale when pianist James Pearson and Lizzie Ball on violin and vocals brought the magic of Ronnie Scott’s famous jazz club to Shaldon.  This creative tour de force gave us an unforgettable evening as they explored the life and music of George Gershwin and his contemporaries.

In addition to all this was a free, fun family concert ‘Travelling by Tuba – Around the World in 60 Minutes’, a truly global extravaganza with lots of audience participation! And our outreach at the Alice Cross Centre in Teignmouth which was enjoyed so much by visitors to the Centre’s Memory Café, entertained by harp and flute duo Alis and Carys.

Reviews of all the concerts are available on the Archive menu.
